Anthea Sieveking's photographic career began in the 1950's sharing studios in Chelsea and Soho with Corry Bevington. Anthea was working mostly for magazines and newspapers and then in the 60's and 70's portraits of actors, writers and other eminent people for various publications and also artists for the Arts Council. Many of these portraits have recently been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery.
Later the emphasis was on books some concerning children, their health, education, child development and also a medical encyclopedia produced by the World Health Organisation, then working with Janet Balaskas for the Active Birth Movement.
A range of children's books translated into various languages was published by Frances Lincoln. The Young Gardener, written by Stefan Buczacki was first published in 2006.
